Interestingly, in December the same organization tested the safety of the 3rd generation Logan and Sandero, which essentially failed, as they scored only two stars in similar crash tests. That is, the Kangoo turned out to be twice as safe as the popular budget cars.

The Kangoo scored 78% for adult occupant protection, 87% for children, 67% for pedestrian (cyclist) protection, and 72% for safety assist systems. Overall, Euro NCAP praised the car, noting its good results. The only exception was protection in side impacts, which the testers called "moderate."

It should be noted that the Logan and Sandero were let down by active safety. In particular, experts called the automatic braking system primitive, as it only sees cars and does not notice pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. Furthermore, Euro NCAP did not like that the popular budget cars lack many other safety assistants, such as lane keeping assist.
It should be noted that the Renault Kangoo of the new, third generation debuted in the fall of 2020.
