Skoda Octavia Green E Line is a little-known electric car that was created at a time when plug-in vehicles were not yet mainstream. This happened back in 2012: then the Czech automaker took note of the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S, and also decided to experiment with electric cars.

Thus, the Octavia Green E Line was born – it was based on the second-generation Octavia Combi estate. The manufacturer then considered that this model was best suited for installing new batteries and electric motors.

The technical characteristics of the Skoda Octavia Green E Line turned out to be decent for an electric car of that time: 116 hp of power, 270 Nm of torque, acceleration to 100 km/h – no more than 12 seconds, top speed – 135 km/h, range on a single charge – up to 150 km.

However, the car was destined to remain a prototype. In total, Skoda produced 17 units of the Octavia Green E Line, one of which, however, performed practical functions – it served as a shuttle at Prague Airport.

Another little-known Skoda electric car, also exhibited in the museum, is the Elta model. It appeared even earlier – in the early 1990s. This electric car was built on the basis of the Skoda Favorit, equipped with a 21-horsepower electric motor and a set of lead-acid batteries. The range on a single charge is 80 km, top speed – 80 km/h. Like the Octavia Green E Line, the Skoda Eltra was also a prototype, but its production run was somewhat larger – 200 units. Moreover, this electric car was even brought to market – most of the units were sold to Switzerland, Germany, the UK, and Canada.

Anyone can see the Skoda Octavia Green E Line and Skoda Eltra, as well as a number of other electric cars of the Czech brand and related developments. The Skoda Emobility exhibition will be open until September 5 inclusive.

Recall that Skoda now produces the electric crossover Enyaq iV. This is the manufacturer's first mass-produced electric car. Its production started last autumn.
