The Wall Street Journal has obtained the relevant letter. However, no official comments from the American company on this matter have been received yet.

The text of the letter states that such a return will allow Tesla to achieve profitability and maintain normal operations. The company itself currently only reports ongoing negotiations with suppliers to reduce the cost of individual contracts.

In 2017, Tesla Motors recorded record losses: the net losses of the electric vehicle manufacturer exceeded two billion dollars. The company's annual revenue amounted to 3.3 billion dollars, but the final net loss reached 2.24 billion dollars — three times more than in 2016, when losses equaled 773 million dollars.
