The new production facility will create 750 jobs. The company has already hired 150 people. Unlike the plant in Gaydon, the capabilities of this site will allow Aston Martin to create larger cars.

According to unofficial information, the brand's first crossover will be sold under the name Varekai. The model will become the production version of the DBX show car, shown in spring 2015 in Geneva. However, unlike the two-door concept, the production version will have four doors. The main rivals of the new model will be the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne, and Maserati Levante.

Technical details about the car have not yet been disclosed. According to rumors, the base version of the SUV will be equipped with a four-liter biturbo V8 from Mercedes-AMG, which develops about 600 horsepower. The flagship version will receive a five-liter plus V12 engine with twin turbochargers and an output of about 750 horsepower.

It is also possible that shortly after the start of production, the crossover will have hybrid and fully electric versions.
