Global car sales, if seasonal fluctuations are removed and based on data from the past month, reached 96 million 802 thousand vehicles on an annualized basis. In the first six months of 2018, global vehicle sales grew by 3.5%, totaling 48 million 293 thousand units.

China still holds the lead in the global automotive market: in June, 2 million 225 thousand cars were sold there, which is 4.2% more than a year earlier. The second position among the largest markets is occupied by America, where the figure reached 1 million 550 thousand vehicles (+5.4%).

In the Western European market, sales increased by 4.4% and amounted to 1 million 671 thousand cars. At the same time, in Eastern Europe, sales volumes remained at the level of the previous year — 382.5 thousand units.

In South America, dealers managed to sell 256.6 thousand cars, which is 2.5% less compared to June of the previous year. Among other significant global markets, it is worth noting Japan (449.2 thousand units, a decrease of 4.6%), Canada (200.2 thousand units, a drop of 1.8%), and Korea (152.3 thousand units, minus 5.2%).
