Traditionally, on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, journalists determined the winner of the honorary title Car of the Year. This year, the award went to the compact crossover Volvo XC40.
The representative of the Swedish brand won the award in this competition for the first time. The car received 325 points and confidently overtook its competitors — the Seat Ibiza hatchback (242 points) and the BMW 5 Series sedan (226 points).
The decision was made by a jury consisting of 58 automotive experts from 22 European countries.
It is worth noting that last year the title of "Car of the Year" went to the Peugeot 3008 crossover.
