The legendary ECTO-1 car, built on the basis of a converted Cadillac Fleetwood 75, has found a new owner through an online auction. The final bid was 32,155 euros. All proceeds will be fully directed to the charity initiative "A Heart for Children" (Ein Herz fuer Kinder).
The car is in working condition and ready to drive. Under the hood of this "ghostbuster" is a six-liter V8 engine producing 329 horsepower. However, to bring the car into perfect condition, the new owner will have to repair the speedometer, climate control and heating systems, as well as replace the glass in a couple of windows. Nevertheless, there is every reason to believe that this famous car will once again attract admiring glances — both from fans of the cult film and simply from connoisseurs of unconventional machinery.
