Suspicions arose back in February 2021, when managers at the French factory in Douai noticed two Renault Talisman sedans missing, writes Le Parisien. The police were immediately alerted. Using a GPS signal, law enforcement located one of the Talismans, but unfortunately, the second unit could not be tracked.

Nevertheless, the cops quickly found those involved. The police investigation established that there were several criminals, eleven of them aged 17 and 30. In total, the gang stole 26 cars from Renault factories in Douai and Flins-sur-Seine, plus several cars directly from the streets of French cities. The stolen cars were mainly sold to North Africa: first they were delivered to Spain, and then ferried to another continent.
The perpetrators were found using CCTV footage, DNA analysis, and phone call records. Their guilt has been proven. Now the criminals await trial.
By the way, Renault is not the only company that has faced such an incident. A couple of months ago, it turned out that new cars had been stolen from the factory parking lot of the German concern Volkswagen for years.
