Mitchell works at the Nürburgring track and has extensive experience in the world of motorsport, so in March he got the opportunity to drive a Toyota Yaris GR on the track. However, during the laps, the blogger made a big mistake: right while driving, he accidentally shifted from fifth gear to second instead of fourth.

In his video, Robert noted that he tried to release the clutch and set the correct speed, but couldn't react fast enough. The car drove several more laps without problems, but the mistake soon made itself known – first the engine started to "hiccup," and then it completely stalled.

In the end, the Toyota Yaris GR left the track on a tow truck.

This case is a good visual illustration of what can happen if you engage the wrong gear at speed. So we do not recommend repeating this in your own car.

Note that the Toyota GR Yaris debuted in early 2020. The hot hatch is equipped with a 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo engine G16E-GTS with direct fuel injection, its power is 272 hp, torque is 370 Nm. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed manual. The maximum speed of the hatchback is electronically limited to 230 km/h, and it takes less than 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
