The industry organization, which includes virtually all leading global automakers, has stated that the new 25 percent tariffs will significantly impact car prices. John Bozzella, who heads the Alliance for Automotive Innovation — an association that includes General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, and Stellantis — emphasized that the tariff increase will affect every manufacturer, with the exception of Tesla.

According to Bozzella, manufacturers predict a quarter increase in the price of certain models, and buyers will feel these changes almost immediately.

The industry is already hearing warnings that the new tariffs could disrupt the established supply chains in North America that have been formed over more than 25 years. Individual parts can cross the border six times or more before reaching final assembly.

"Established automotive manufacturing and component supply cannot be relocated overnight. That is the crux of the problem: tariffs in North America can increase consumer costs before production returns to the country," Bozzella concluded.

The Ukrainian market may also feel these changes: American cars, including those that enter the country after accidents, are actively imported to us. The same applies to European cars — both used and new.
