Yes, safety experts from the aforementioned publication have determined that a car can be stolen via keyless entry in a minute or even less. So, as you can see, keyless car access is not only convenient for car owners, but also... a great comfort for thieves.

For example, in the case of the Ford Fiesta, intruders need 40 seconds to unlock the car door and another 20 seconds to start the engine. It takes exactly the same amount of time to steal a BMW X3.

Things are even worse for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class – 30 seconds to get in and 20 seconds to start the engine, totaling 50 seconds. However, even this result pales in comparison to the Audi TT RS and DS 3 Crossback – both cars can be driven away in just 10 seconds! Half the time is spent on breaking into the door, and exactly the same amount on starting the engine.

However, there were also some tough nuts to crack: the Land Rover Discovery also took part in the test – the experimenters got into the SUV's cabin in 20 seconds, but they never managed to start it.

It should be noted that theft via keyless entry is carried out without any rough mechanical interventions such as broken windows, lock picking, or cutting wires during startup; all criminals need is to obtain the code using special equipment.
