The Ministry of Infrastructure has already prepared relevant amendments to the law "On Road Transport". From January 1, 2030, it is planned to allow only electric buses for regular passenger transportation and to ban models with internal combustion engines.

The transition to electric buses is proposed to be carried out gradually. From January 1, 2025, the share of electric buses in the carrier's fleet should be at least 20%, from January 1, 2027 – at least 40%, and from January 1, 2029 – at least 80%.

However, it is not specified whether the new requirements apply only to urban transport or also to intercity buses. After all, the range of most electric buses does not yet allow long trips without stops for recharging.

In addition, it is proposed to introduce a percentage quota for products of domestic manufacturers. The share of Ukrainian-made electric buses in fleets should be at least 90%, and they should account for at least 85% of passenger seats.

Recall that earlier it became known that the Ministry of Infrastructure also proposes to completely ban the import and production of gasoline and diesel cars in Ukraine.
