Experts have compiled a detailed "guide" on the time it takes for alcohol to leave the body for each group of drinks (light and strong). However, it presents average values, as the exact time for alcohol to dissipate is the same for everyone: it depends on gender, age, metabolism, weight, type of drink consumed, food, snacks, as well as the level of stress before and during drinking.
A glass of wine (13.5% alcohol; 1 serving – 150 ml)
- One serving – 3.5 hours
- Two servings – 7 hours
- Three servings – 10.5 hours
- Four servings – 14 hours
- Five servings – 17.5 hours

A glass of whiskey (40% alcohol, 1 serving – 50 ml)
- One serving – 1.5 hours
- Two servings – 3 hours
- Three servings – 4.5 hours
- Four servings – 6 hours
- Five servings – 7.5 hours

Beer, lager (5% alcohol, one serving - 500 ml)
- One serving – 2.5 hours
- Two servings – 5 hours
- Three servings – 7.5 hours
- Four servings – 10 hours
- Five servings – 12.5 hours
As you can see, alcohol consumed in small amounts is eliminated within a few hours, but after a "wild party" – in about half a day (however, in such cases, it is important not to forget about the hangover, which can also affect driving behavior). The conclusion here is simple: even if a driver thinks he is able to think soberly and react adequately to the road situation, in no case should he get behind the wheel half an hour or an hour after the party. And ideally, it is better to remember about the car only the next day.
