Zimmer already has experience working with BMW. In particular, last summer he created the sound design for the Vision M NEXT concept: he recorded acceleration and braking sounds that reproduce the rumble of a gasoline engine, as well as button clicks. The sound performs not only an aesthetic task, but also a utilitarian one – it informs pedestrians about the approach of an electric car.
The set of sounds composed by Zimmer for the Bavarian automaker will be released under the BMW IconicSounds Electric brand.
Hans Zimmer is still considered one of the most innovative film composers. In 1988, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Score for the film "Rain Man," and seven years later he won three prestigious awards at once – Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy for the music for the animated film "The Lion King."
Zimmer worked on such films as "Pearl Harbor," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Madagascar," Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight," and "Driving Miss Daisy."
