As Reuters reports, in 2018 the German concern reached a record figure, selling 10.83 million cars — this is 0.9% more than in the previous year.

This figure includes sales of heavy trucks of the Scania and MAN brands; if they are excluded, the sales volume will amount to 10.6 million vehicles. Thus, among manufacturers of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, the first place in the world is occupied by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, whose sales reached 10.76 million cars.

Last year, the Nissan brand showed a decline of 2.8% — to 5.65 million units, while the other two brands of the alliance demonstrated growth. Renault sold 3.88 million cars (+3.2%), and Mitsubishi — 1.22 million (+18%).

The third place was taken by Toyota, which sold 10.59 million cars (excluding Hino trucks — 10.39 million). In 2019, the Japanese manufacturer plans to bring sales volume to 10.76 million cars.
