Thus, global production of passenger cars in the first quarter decreased by 1.3% compared to the same period last year.

The leader among producing countries remains China, where in the first three months of 2018, 5,968,919 cars were produced. At the same time, the Celestial Empire yielded to its last year's figure by 2.3 percent.

In second place is Japan, whose factories produced 2,192,402 cars. Compared to the first quarter of 2017, passenger car output in the country decreased by 0.4 percent.

The third place is occupied by the German automotive industry, which lost 5.7% and finished the quarter with a result of 1,427,979 cars.

India strengthened its fourth position, increasing passenger car production by almost 6% to 1,073,349 units.

South Korea closes the top five, where from January to March, 876,997 passenger cars were assembled, which is 6.8% less than a year earlier.

The top ten largest producers of passenger cars for the reporting period also included: USA - 737,396 units (-13.6%); Spain - 620,562 units (-5.9%); Brazil - 570,927 units (+9.8%); France - 500,000 units (+12.4%) and the UK - 440,426 units (-6.3%).

Recall that in Ukraine, in the first quarter of 2018, 1,768 passenger cars were assembled. This is the fortieth result in the ranking of 41 countries that produced passenger cars from January to March. Only Venezuela produced fewer - 260 units.
