However, as is usually the case, the rise in the dollar exchange rate inevitably leads to more expensive fuel. On the one hand, such a development is quite understandable. On the other hand, a natural question arises: do fuel reserves really run out immediately after the hryvnia exchange rate falls, and do suppliers have to immediately purchase new batches at the updated rate? The answer is obvious.
Nevertheless, according to the head of the Consulting Group A-95, Serhiy Kuyun, “every hryvnia in the dollar exchange rate adds the same amount to the cost of purchasing petroleum products.”
Based on this, the expert predicts that in the very near future, prices at gas stations could rise to 20–22 UAH per liter of A-95 gasoline (while the current average price is 19.20 UAH).
