According to information from foreign sources, the production version of the car will differ noticeably in design from the previously presented concepts.
It is expected that the new Defender will appear in three- and five-door versions, as well as with a hard or soft roof. The appearance of a pickup is not excluded. Under the hood, petrol and diesel engines will be offered, which will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic, as in the Discovery Sport.
The production of the Defender 2019 will likely be organized at the new Slovak enterprise of Jaguar Land Rover, the construction of which will begin already this year.
