The operating loss for the reporting period reached 955 million euros — this is more than an eightfold increase compared to the 117 million euro loss in 2008. The company explained that such significant losses are largely due to a decline in consumer demand for cars.

The group's production facilities and commercial structures are located in at least 118 countries, and the staff numbers over 126 thousand people. After the purchase of the Romanian manufacturer Dacia in September 1999 and the South Korean assets of Samsung Motors in September 2000, the group manages three brands: Renault, Dacia, and Samsung.
