The value added tax on fuel will again become 20% instead of 7%. This information was announced to RBC-Ukraine by the head of the parliamentary committee on finance, Danylo Hetmantsev.

"Already from the first of July, VAT on fuel will return to the indicators that were in effect before the war. I am convinced that reducing these rates was a serious miscalculation. It did not affect the cost of fuel for drivers in any way, but only increased the profits of traders," Hetmantsev emphasized.

According to the deputy, such a decision by the Ministry of Economy was wrong. "Remember what happened at the beginning of 2022, when the excise tax was canceled and VAT on fuel was reduced to 7%. Did the market come out of the shadows? No! Illegal fuel sales points increased very significantly," the people's deputy concluded.
