According to Ukravtoprom, in August the number of used cars registered in Ukraine and imported from abroad decreased by 64% compared to July of the same year.
The leader in the number of registrations in August was the Volkswagen Golf — 987 such cars were transferred to Ukrainian plates. In second place was the Renault Megane with 841 cleared and registered cars. The third position was taken by the Volkswagen Passat — 773 units.
Next on the list is the Skoda Octavia, which was chosen by 499 Ukrainians in August. The top five is completed by the Ford Focus with a result of 482 cars. In total, since the beginning of the year, that is, from January to August 2022, almost 327 thousand used vehicles imported from other countries have been registered in Ukraine.
Demand for used cars fell threefold in August
Over the past month, Ukrainians registered 16.6 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad. This number of registrations of imported second-hand cars turned out to be three times less than the figure for August 2021.
