In August, Ukrainians most often chose Toyota cars — this brand was registered 750 times. Compared to the same period last year, sales of new cars of this Japanese brand decreased by 40 percent. However, if compared with July of the same year, the demand for Toyotas increased by 26 percent.
The second place was taken by RENAULT, whose registration figures in annual terms fell more than six times — to 206 units. The French brand lagged behind the July level by 21 percent.
For the first time, the German premium brand BMW entered the top three leaders of the domestic car market, collecting 197 registrations. At the same time, compared to August last year, the number of new BMWs decreased by 9 percent. At the same time, the brand exceeded its own July figure by 6%.
The fourth is HYUNDAI — 172 registrations, which is 50% less than in August last year and 15% worse than in July 2022. The top five most popular brands of the month is closed by VOLKSWAGEN with 167 new cars sold (-55% compared to August 2021 and -47% compared to July 2022).
