Therefore, for many, buying cars is definitely not the right time. But the lack of mass opportunity to buy does not cancel mass demand. Due to hostilities in Ukraine, about 500 thousand cars have been irretrievably lost.
And if at the beginning of the war people massively bought almost everything that could take them either to the west of the country or abroad, now migration processes are significantly less.
Prices and demand for used cars
In need of money, Ukrainians resorted to mass sales of cars at low prices.
In fact, this did not greatly "sag" the market, except that the number of cars that are ready to be sold as quickly as possible and significantly reduce prices increased.
Interestingly, there was no significant price reduction in any of the price segments, and now price charts show stability.
Cars without mileage: demand fell 16.5 times
If everything is quite optimistic with used cars, then with the sale of new ones, everything looks much more complicated, and the numbers clearly indicate this. As Ukrautoprom reports, compared to March 2021, sales fell 16.5 times.
The largest number of registrations in March were received by Renault cars — 108 units. In second place is Toyota, with 88 new cars. The third result is Skoda — 37 cars.
This, accordingly, affected the quarterly results. Thus, Ukrainians purchased 11.2 thousand new passenger cars in the first quarter of 2022, which is 47% less than in the same period of 2021.
What in the end
Now people are actively starting to import cars from abroad for free customs clearance, but this "shop" will soon close, except for cars for the needs of the army, etc.
More than 20 thousand units have already been imported. So far, this does not particularly affect the car market, due to their relatively small number in proportion.
And, most likely, these cars will not be able to greatly "sag" the market, since the authorities plan to stop the procedure, due to its abuse and the creation of problems with the logistics of more needed goods for the country.
Therefore, we can assume that more than 40-50 thousand will definitely not have time to import, and this is not enough to affect prices, although the savings for the consumer are enormous.
