The project of customs clearance of a car in a smartphone has been in the works at the National Council of Reforms for more than a month. And recently the idea moved to a new level – it was supported by Volodymyr Zelensky, and on May 21, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Finance to prepare final proposals for amendments to legislation within the framework of the relevant project.
The main idea of customs clearance of a car in a smartphone is to make this process simpler and cheaper. It is assumed that the owner will be able to register his car himself, without the participation of customs officers and brokers (accordingly, without bureaucracy, corruption, queues, etc.). To do this, he will need to enter the necessary data through the application or website of the state services "Diia" and make the appropriate payments. In addition, the cost of registration itself will decrease. The National Council of Reforms believes that after the new model of customs clearance is officially launched, the cost of vehicle registration will decrease by 30% within five years.

Unlike the existing analog, which is offered on the website of the State Customs Service, this calculator is significantly simplified – to calculate the cost of registration, you only need to enter the age of the car, engine size and type, and also indicate whether the car is exclusive or not. After the program makes the calculation, it displays the final amount on the screen with an indication (breakdown) of the cost of specific customs payments – excise tax, import duty and VAT.
