A sketch of an SUV created by domestic enthusiast designers was published on the Facebook page "Ukrainian Cars".
As follows from the image, domestic craftsmen made the car original, but its design definitely shows features of the same UAZ-469 (the biggest similarity is the same vent windows) and Land Rover Defender. Among the characteristic features of the project of a new passenger car with increased cross-country capability for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are large wheels with "toothy" tires, a bull bar, engine protection, side steps, and a roof rack.
According to the competition terms, the new SUV must meet NATO standards. The main focus for developers should be on reliability, power, fuel efficiency, payload capacity, and ease of maintenance and repair. Detailed information about the project is missing, but colleagues from the "Ukrainian Cars" community believe that with the same dimensions as the UAZ, the Ukrainian newcomer will, ideally, get a stronger frame, better driving characteristics, and high corrosion resistance.
Currently, six Ukrainian companies have expressed a desire to participate in the project, in particular, "Ukrainian Armor" (Kyiv) and "Ukravtobusprom" (Lviv), but they have not yet presented their developments.
