Externally, the Volkswagen Polo 2022 can be distinguished from the current hatchback by its new front and rear ends – they are styled in line with other recent models of the German brand (in particular, Golf VIII). The Polo received new LED headlights (they are already standard, and matrix optics will be available for an extra charge), an improved radiator grille, modified taillights, and a different bumper set. In addition, customers will have access to new wheels and new body color options; however, the dimensions remain the same: 4053x1751x1446 mm, wheelbase – 2564 mm.

The interior has also been touched up: a new multifunction steering wheel has appeared, and trim materials have improved. Already in the base, the Polo 2022 comes with a digital instrument cluster (8 inches diagonal) and multimedia with a 6.5-inch screen, while higher versions get a 10.25-inch cockpit and a 9.2-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The car also comes with many safety and driver assistance systems – from adaptive cruise control to lane keeping assist.

The engine lineup of the Volkswagen Polo 2022 consists only of petrol engines (diesels were removed last year): 1.0 MPI (80 hp and 93 Nm, 5MT), 1.0 TSI (95 hp and 175 Nm, 5MT or 7DSG), 1.0 TSI (110 hp and 200 Nm, 7DSG), 1.0 TGI (can run on gas, 90 hp, 160 Nm, 6MT).

The hatchback has several trims and versions: Life, Style, R-Line, and GTI (the updated Polo GTI with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 207 hp will hit the market a bit later). In the case of the R-Line, it comes with base Matrix headlights, a sporty aerodynamic body kit, a rear bumper with a glossy black diffuser, and special-pattern alloy wheels.

Sales of the new model start in September; in Germany, the base version is priced at less than 16 thousand euros. It is worth noting that the Polo has not been officially sold in Ukraine for several years, but even the freshest examples are still found on our roads – they are often brought to the domestic used market from Europe. The model's history already spans almost 50 years, and during this time it has sold over 18 million units.
