According to the results of last year, 496.5 thousand passenger cars were registered in Ukraine for the first time, and exactly half of them had diesel powertrains. It is noteworthy that imported used cars played a decisive role in this — they accounted for more than 88% of all diesel vehicles that joined the domestic car fleet. It was this segment that ensured diesel technology took the lead in the market.
Petrol versions accounted for 39% of the total registrations — over the year, 191.8 thousand owners chose them. However, among new cars, petrol modifications were the undisputed leaders, making up 57% of all purchases in this segment.
The third place with 8% of registrations is held by cars with LPG equipment. Over twelve months, almost 39 thousand such cars received Ukrainian plates, with only 5.5 thousand of them being new.
Hybrid cars accounted for just over 2% of the primary passenger car market. In their structure, used examples made up 60%, and new ones — 40%, respectively.
Electric vehicles, using only battery traction, were limited to 1% of the primary market — this is just over 7 thousand registrations, as Ukrautoprom has already reported earlier.
Among the customs-cleared used passenger cars, the most in demand were:
• diesel — VOLKSWAGEN Passat;
• petrol — VOLKSWAGEN Passat;
• with LPG — VOLKSWAGEN Passat;
• hybrid — CHEVROLET Volt;
• electric — NISSAN Leaf.
In the new car segment, the leaders were:
• petrol — KIA Sportage;
• diesel — RENAULT Duster;
• with LPG — RENAULT Logan;
• hybrid — TOYOTA RAV-4;
• electric — JAGUAR I-Pace.
