This figure became the highest in the last nine months.

It is worth recalling that in the previous month Ukrainians registered 9.2 thousand new passenger cars.

By the end of the year, 408.1 thousand used passenger cars were transferred to Ukrainian registration — this is 3.5 times more than in the year before. Almost three quarters of them were imported from European Union countries.

Such growth in registrations of imported used cars was caused by the easing of customs clearance conditions for used cars, as well as the state program for legalizing passenger cars that had previously violated transit rules or temporary stay in Ukraine.

As a result, in 2019, registrations of used cars almost five times exceeded sales of new cars.

The leader among first-time registered used passenger cars in Ukraine was Volkswagen. Over the year, Ukrainians registered 74,856 imported Volkswagens not of the first freshness — this is 16 times more than new cars of this brand.

In second position is Opel, with a result of 34,893 used cars. Primary registrations of used Opels turned out to be 93 times higher than new ones.

Third place was taken by Renault — 31,994 cars with mileage, which is twice as many as sales of new Renaults.

Skoda became the fourth most popular: imported second-hand of this brand was chosen by 31,920 Ukrainians — more than five times more than buyers of new Skodas.

The top five leaders of the primary market for used passenger cars is closed by Ford with an indicator of 28,202 cars. For comparison, new Fords were sold 16 times less last year.
