According to the Law of Ukraine No. 73-IX, adopted on September 20, 2019, amendments were made to the Customs Code regarding the postponement of the introduction of fines for improper import of cars into the country. These changes provide that the transitional period allowing Ukrainians to legalize vehicles with foreign license plates that are already in use in Ukraine will be extended — until December 31, 2019 inclusive, and during this period no administrative penalties will be applied.
In this regard, it was decided to renew and extend the validity of the Temporary Procedure regulating customs procedures for the clearance of cars into free circulation. This procedure was approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1077, and its term is extended in accordance with subparagraph 2 of paragraph 2 of the Final Provisions of Law No. 73-IX.
In addition, the related government resolution of February 13, 2019 No. 101 is again put into effect. It concerns the use of a certificate of conformity that determines the level of environmental standards during customs clearance of vehicles falling under this Temporary Procedure.
