Compared to April last year, the number of registrations of used passenger cars imported from abroad increased 3.5 times. Their share in the primary market rose by 28 percentage points at once.

At the same time, every second such registration was for cars older than 10 years.

Among used foreign cars, Ukrainian buyers most often chose cars with diesel engines. Last month, they accounted for 53% of all primary registrations of imported second-hand cars. Petrol versions took 35%, about 9% more were cars with LPG equipment, and the remaining 3% were electric vehicles and hybrids.

Speaking of brands, the most popular brand of the month was Volkswagen: 3.7 thousand cars of this German company changed foreign owners to Ukrainian ones.

Skoda took second place — last month, 1,848 used cars of this brand were registered in Ukraine.

Third place went to Renault with 1,821 cars.

In addition, Opel — 1,777 units and Ford — 1,550 units were in noticeable demand.

Among specific models of imported second-hand cars in April, the leaders were: Volkswagen Passat — 1,514 cars, Skoda Octavia — 1,150 cars, and Renault Megane — 1,138 cars.

In total, over the first four months of this year, 206,930 used passenger cars received Ukrainian registration. This is 722% more than in the same period of 2018.
