To protect clients from potential troubles, AtlanticExpress is introducing a new service - damage insurance.
The program provides full compensation for damage caused to a vehicle during transportation from the USA to Ukraine. It is offered additionally and applies to vehicles purchased at auctions regardless of their price. However, if the cost of the car exceeds 75,000 USD, its insurance is handled individually.
Period and cost
The service period begins from the moment loading starts at the port of departure and ends with unloading at the port of destination, including coverage of loading and unloading. This also includes temporary transshipment storage for no more than 30 days.
Key information in numbers:
- Sum insured: 100% or 130% of the actual value of the cargo - the auction price including the auction fee. The 130% includes the value of the cargo and expenses related to transportation.
- Cost of the service: 2.5% of the sum insured, but not less than $150.
- Deductible (unconditional): from $100 to $500 per vehicle, depending on the cost of the vehicle.
How does it work?
Loss adjustment occurs in several mandatory stages. The first is recording damage to the car in the USA: existing scratches, dents, cracks, and other defects of the vehicle are photographed. Upon arrival at the port of Odessa, a second recording of the presence of damage is carried out - the second stage.
If new defects appear during transit, they are inspected, a loss assessment and damage examination are conducted. After the conclusion of an expert auto appraiser, supporting documents are submitted, on the basis of which compensation is paid.
Losses from destruction, damage, or loss of the cargo or part thereof are subject to compensation; losses, expenses, and contributions to general average caused by the need to prevent the destruction of the cargo for any reason; all necessary and reasonably incurred expenses for saving the cargo, as well as reducing the loss and determining its extent.
What are the benefits?
The compensation service from AtlanticExpress allows the client to insure against risks associated with transporting a car from America to Ukraine. In the event that the car is damaged during transportation, compensation for the damage incurred is provided. When the sum insured is 130% (specified in the contract), related expenses, for example, freight forwarding and brokerage services, are also covered.
