In the nine months of the current year, 92% more passenger cars were imported into Ukraine than in the same period last year. The total customs value of imported cars exceeded one and a half billion dollars.
Almost 1.2 billion of this amount accounted for new cars — 60.5 thousand units were imported. Another 346 million dollars were spent on used cars, which numbered 49.1 thousand.
The main flow of cars came from European Union countries — 69.6 thousand units, which is more than 63% of all passenger car imports for the specified period. At the same time, in supplies from the EU, new cars accounted for only 44%, and the remaining 56% were cars that had already been in use.
The largest supplier was Germany: 25 thousand cars were imported from there, of which 5.5 thousand were new and 19.5 thousand were used.
In second place is Japan with 13.9 thousand units, with 88.5% of them being new cars.
Third place goes to France, which sent 10 thousand passenger cars to Ukraine. The main part of French imports consisted of used cars — 8.9 thousand units.
