Dmitry Dubilet, one of the project leaders of iGov, announced the launch of the new service on his social media page.
To register a car, you need to enter minimal data into the online form on the website and choose a convenient date and time for your visit to the MREO. Then, a receipt is sent to your email, which you can pay in advance at any bank. At the appointed time, the car owner arrives at the office with the car and a package of documents, where an inspector inspects the vehicle, verifies the papers, and issues new license plates along with the vehicle registration certificate.
Dubilet believes that this approach can reduce the level of corruption in the MREO, since a significant part of shadow schemes is associated with speeding up the processing of applications.
Currently, the service operates in test mode in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk. The developers plan to improve the system: introduce accounting for license plates and registration certificate forms, organize payment via internet acquiring, and also set up remote issuance of documents and plates.
