It should be noted that new license plates were talked about back in October 2014. And now it has become known that new plates will indeed appear, supposedly due to the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
But this does not mean that all motorists will have to change their Ukrainian license plates. They will still be considered legal, but those who register a car for the first time will receive European-style plates.
The new plates will have a blue background for the national flag of Ukraine. The "UA" hologram will disappear, replaced by a space for a barcode that will identify the manufacturer of the plate. For now, that's all the information, but soon the government promises to show and tell what the new plates will look like.
