They were heading to the ATO zone for rotation. However, some soldiers died before arriving at their destination. A military KrAZ collided with a bus, resulting in the deaths of soldiers from the Kulchytskyi National Guard battalion. Initially, several deaths were reported, then the number increased to 12. Today it became known that one more soldier died in the hospital.
The accident occurred near the village of Mankivka. The cause of the accident is said to be poor weather conditions. In addition to 13 dead, another 11 soldiers (according to some data - 18) were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
At the scene, a commission consisting of representatives of the military prosecutor's office, traffic police officers, an investigative-operational group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the command of the National Guard of Ukraine is working.
