The body lines in the lower part of the new Mazda 2 are inclined forward, above them is a compact cabin that is visually shifted back - all this creates the impression that the main load is distributed to the rear wheels. The slightly raised rear part creates a feeling of accumulated energy and concentrated tension, while the silhouette of the front part expresses energy that is released in an instant. The overall effect is an impression of explosive impulse.
The new Mazda2 became the first model of the Japanese brand, the design of the optics of which was worked on by a separate team of specialists. As a result, for the first time in Mazda's history, the headlight contains four diodes that combine both projector and parabolic type LED lamps in each lamp.
In Ukraine, the new product is offered with five color options, including two completely new shades: sporty Dynamic Blue (bright blue) and stylish Smoky Rose (smoky pink).
Inside, the new "two" has become more spacious and has a lot of useful little things like a special palm rest, pads for the knees of the driver and front passenger.
Among the key differences of the Mazda 2, the manufacturer notes:
• Improved HMI interface - "human-machine", designed for the safest possible control of multimedia systems
• All controls and instruments used during driving are positioned to ensure a quick reaction with minimal distraction while driving;
• Active Driving Display* in real time reports the most important data during movement and control directly in the driver's direct field of view; other information appears on the new stylish instrument panel;
• 7-inch display* on the central console of the instrument panel (allows convenient control of communication and infotainment systems), which accepts commands using the HMI commander or voice signal;
• Constant online contact is supported by the proprietary MZD Connect* connection system, which provides safe access to various mobile content, iPhone devices, as well as smartphones with Android OS. With MZD Connect you will get:
- Proprietary applications such as Eco-display, which reminds about the maintenance schedule, warns about malfunctions of car systems, allows the driver to track fuel consumption, etc;
- The ability to play audio files from iPod, MP3 and CD, receive stationary radio broadcasts, SMS functions, as well as display related information;
• More efficient and energy-saving climate control system.
The SKYACTIV-G 1.5 gasoline engine - a new engine in the Mazda line, provides a balance of dynamic characteristics, efficiency and environmental friendliness. This is a modified version of the engine that equips the Mazda3. The unit provides good torque in a wide range of speeds (compared to the previous generation).

The SKYACTIV-DRIVE gearbox is a six-speed automatic transmission that is 17 kg lighter than the gearbox that equips the Mazda3 and Mazda6. It is also lighter, more compact and more efficient in terms of torque transfer than the 4-speed automatic transmission of the previous Mazda2. Thanks to this, the new gearbox contributes to improving overall fuel consumption.
The new Mazda2 inherited the suspension configuration of the previous model: MacPherson at the front and torsion beam at the rear. However, the technology has been improved in accordance with the SKYACTIV chassis concept. In particular, the sensitivity of the steering system and, accordingly, the accuracy of the car's response have been improved. For the new product, an impressive list of active and passive safety systems is offered:
• Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) * detects and warns the driver about cars approaching from behind in adjacent lanes;
• Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) * is an autonomous emergency braking system that operates in the speed range of 4-30 km/h and automatically applies the brakes if the system detects an inevitable frontal collision;
• Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) - operating at speeds of 65 km/h and above, the LDWS system "monitors" the markings and if it detects an unintentional lane change (without activating turn signals), warns the driver with a sound signal, as well as with a corresponding picture on the instrument panel.
• High Beam Control (HBC) - automatically switches from high beam to low beam and vice versa.
Already in the base, the Mazda 2 is equipped with ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (EBA) emergency braking assistance system, as well as a dynamic stability control system (DSC).
The Japanese note that the design of the front and side airbags, as well as curtain airbags, is adapted to the size of the cabin. In addition, the design of the seats has been changed to protect the chest of passengers and the driver, and to prevent unwanted movement of the cervical spine and hip joint.
A wide range of accessories is available on the Ukrainian market: wheel disks, decorative and protective elements, additional comfort and safety systems, as well as little things that are useful both in daily use and on long trips. The starting price of the new product is UAH 429,000.
