Interestingly, there is no clear pattern: both inexpensive cars and premium-class vehicles are being driven with forged documents. The press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine provides examples of typical violations. Recently, at the 'Rava-Ruska' checkpoint in the Lviv region, a 2011 Nissan was detained. The driver, a resident of the Khmelnytskyi region, presented fake documents to the border guards. The body numbers and the numbers in the technical passport did not match. Moreover, the car had not left the country, as the driver claimed. In Zakarpattia, there was an attempt to bring a Toyota Land Cruiser into the country bypassing official registration, with a market value of over 700,000 hryvnias. As a result of the inspection, all documents for the car were fictitious and not entered into the database of the Czech registration authorities, where the car was supposedly registered.

Criminal activity has also increased on the border of Ukraine with Russia in the Sumy region, as well as on the border with Moldova. During the same period, more than 20 violating vehicles were detained.

The eastern regions of the country remain problematic, especially those controlled by terrorist organizations. It is difficult to provide exact figures, as keeping statistics on the number of crimes in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions is currently challenging for several reasons. Experts suggest that the state border in these regions is a very conditional concept.
