President of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine Alexander Zaletov considers such a situation ordinary. In his opinion, if an insured event occurred on the territory of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), then these risks are not included in the obligations under the insurance contract.
«Worldwide, mass riots, military conflicts, revolutions and the like are generally recognized as force majeure, and insurers do not compensate for damage in such cases», — explained the head of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine.
In addition, in a conversation with the publication «Vzglyad», the expert noted that insurance companies do not work in the ATO zone at all, since the level of risks there exceeds 100%.
