The decline in consumer interest in used cars has almost matched the drop in the new car market. An even greater reduction was recorded in the light commercial vehicle segment, which is typically purchased by small business owners.

The strongest decline in demand was for crossovers and minivans, while budget models costing up to $10,000 remain in demand. The least affected by the downturn were the cheapest offers — old Zhiguli and Moskvich models.

VAZ cars hold the first place in popularity — every fifth buyer chose them. The second spot is occupied by Daewoo with a share of 7.3%, followed by Toyota, and Chevrolet closes the top four with 5.1%.

Among individual models, the ranking is as follows:

1) Daewoo Lanos

2) Chevrolet Aveo

3) Skoda Octavia

4) VAZ-21099
