The new model from Subaru will feature a "shooting brake" body style, which is currently in demand among many manufacturers. The future model will be based on the architecture of the promising Subaru Global Platform (SGP), which will also serve as the base for the next generation of the Tribeca SUV.
Under the hood of the new Subaru SVX will be a hybrid powertrain developed jointly with Lexus specialists. It will combine a low-power electric motor and a six-cylinder gasoline engine.
The main sales market for the new all-wheel-drive model will be the United States. The model's premiere is scheduled for 2017.
