License plates can be put into production, as the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol have already received individual region codes – «82» and «92», respectively. The order of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs came into force yesterday, May 11.

The code «92» was not previously used in any subject of the Russian Federation and was in reserve. As for the code «82», it was previously assigned to the Koryak Autonomous Okrug, which became part of the Kamchatka Krai. At the same time, the total number of number combinations used during registration actions in the Koryak Autonomous Okrug was extremely insignificant, as specified on the website of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. Thus, almost all combinations can be used when registering cars with the code «82».
Let us remind you that earlier we were talking about codes «91» and «92». In March, it was also reported that they want to make re-registration of vehicles free, and planned to allocate enough time for the procedure itself so that people could complete it without haste. The possible shortage of license plates was planned to be compensated with three-digit region codes, as implemented in Moscow and other large cities.
