For Crimean vehicles used for commercial purposes, the technical inspection will be in effect already from July 1, 2014.
The Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RUA) reported: "Until January 1, 2015, a moratorium on technical inspection has been declared for all vehicles except commercial ones. After that date, technical inspection will become a mandatory norm in accordance with Russian legislation."
Difficulties may arise due to the fact that, according to Russian legislation, only accredited operators can conduct technical inspections. Therefore, before January 1, 2015, all organizations and individuals must obtain the appropriate accreditation in accordance with Russian legislative norms in the field of technical inspection.
According to RUA, as of today, the first six organizations (including individuals) have been entered into the register of technical inspection operators.
