There is no longer a familiar gear shift lever on the central tunnel — its place has been taken by a joystick located on the steering column, as in Mercedes models.
The right lever is responsible for selecting reverse, neutral, and other gears, while the left one takes over the functions of turn signals, lights, windshield washer, and other options. This scheme has received mixed reviews: some drivers consider it progressive and convenient, while others complain about unnecessary complexity and potential risks.
At the same time, many users on social media noted that the new approach to transmission control may turn out to be more intuitive and convenient than the solutions used in other Volkswagen vehicles.
