Volvo has announced full electrification of its model lineup. By 2019, all new cars of the Swedish brand will be either hybrid or fully electric.
The company intends to distribute its model range across three directions:
- Mild Hybrid — standard hybrid systems
- Plug-in Hybrid — petrol and diesel hybrids that can be charged from the electrical grid
- Fully electric — fully electric vehicles
In addition, plans were announced to establish serial production of two electric sports models under the Polestar brand and three Volvo electric vehicles within the next five years.
