It took Korean specialists four years to create the new transmission, and during this work they filed 143 patents. This gearbox will replace the six-speed automatic, and despite the same dimensions, the new product weighs 3.5 kg less than its predecessor.

According to the developers, the eight-speed automatic transmission is distinguished by particularly smooth gear shifting and helps reduce fuel consumption. The first model to receive such a gearbox will be the KIA Cadenza sedan. In the future, this transmission will also be installed on other cars, including Hyundai models.
