The competition will be held at the Zandvoort circuit, located near Amsterdam, for at least three years. This track has already hosted Formula 1 races from 1952 to 1985.

The first victory at the Dutch Grand Prix was achieved by Italian Alberto Ascari driving a Ferrari, and the last winner was Austrian Niki Lauda, who at that time represented the McLaren team. The most wins on this track — four — belong to British Lotus driver Jim Clark.
