Next to the CrossBlue Coupe concept, Volkswagen's stand featured the family version of the Lavida sedan. The Gran Lavida station wagon differs from the standard version only in the design of the rear part, which is styled in the same manner as the Audi A3 Sportback. The wheelbase of the Volkswagen "estate" is the same as that of the sedan, but the new model is longer in body length: 4,605 mm versus 4,454 mm for the four-door.

The Gran Lavida, built on the platform of the latest-generation Volkswagen Jetta, will appear at dealers with three petrol engines of 1.4, 1.6, and 2.0 liters. They will be paired with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG robotic gearbox.

Production of the car will begin soon at the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. The German automaker has priced the new station wagon, aimed at the Chinese market, at $19,500.
