It is expected that the toll will be charged not from all trucks, but only from those whose weight exceeds 12 tons, regardless of their country of registration. The list of toll sections and the cost of travel will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers annually. Tariffs may range from 1 to 3 hryvnias per kilometer.
According to preliminary estimates, this will allow an additional about 9 billion hryvnias to the budget annually. These funds are planned to be directed to the repair and maintenance of road infrastructure.
In addition, the bill provides for the introduction of an electronic payment system for the use of highways. Payment control will be carried out using special radio frequency identification tags installed in vehicles.
If a carrier does not pay for the passage, he faces a fine of 500 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens. For a repeated violation, the fine will already be 1000 minimums. Currently, this corresponds to 8,500 and 17,000 hryvnias, respectively.
