At the government meeting on June 8, the corresponding decision was approved, as reported by Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan on his Facebook page.

"The government approved three main documents: UAH 3.9 billion for road repairs; UAH 1 billion for pothole elimination and UAH 500 million for updating the top layer of pavement, which will increase the service life of roads by several years; as well as more than UAH 500 million to pay off debts of previous years, the legality of which was confirmed by independent laboratories, the State Financial Inspection, the SBU and judicial instances," Omelyan noted.

It is worth recalling that this year, UAH 14.2 billion was planned for the construction and restoration of Ukrainian roads. However, even this amount is only a small fraction of what is needed at least to maintain the road surface in an acceptable condition.
