According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, the Ukrainian side is ready to lift restrictions only if Russia takes a similar step.

“We responded symmetrically to their unfriendly steps: as soon as they open the roads, we, in turn, on a reciprocal basis, take appropriate measures, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the national police ensure the restoration of freight transportation for the first time,” Yatsenyuk said at a government meeting.

The Russian Ministry of Transport confirmed that both sides agreed to lift the ban on transit of heavy trucks. Recall that since February 15, Ukraine has banned the passage of Russian carriers' trucks through its territory. This decision of the Cabinet of Ministers was a response to the ban imposed a day earlier by the Russian Ministry of Transport on Ukrainian companies. In turn, Moscow's actions were a reaction to the blockade of Russian trucks by Ukrainian activists, which began in early February for political reasons.
